Breed FAQ Homepage
PLEASE NOTE: The www.pets4bid.com HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN. Thanks to all
of you for your help and commentary, and ESPECIALLY thanks to
Robert McClendon, the administrative contact (from which pets4bid subcontracted their webspace) for his responsiveness to the situation and ultimately
shutting down the site.
REC.PETS.DOGS.* (the Usenet groups) offer a variety of FAQ's (frequently
asked questions) about individual breeds. There is an ongoing
effort to add more breeds; if you have a favorite breed but don't see
it here, you may want to write one up yourself! For
help and advice on writing one up, please
read this and then contact me at
rpd-info@iname.com.
All the breeds listed below are posted as FAQ's to
rec.pets.dogs.info (or are in the middle of the approval process).
There are other breeds represented by information in other web sites
that are NOT listed below. If you do not find your breed listed in
here, try the search box on the
homepage. If that doesn't come
up with anything, then I don't know of further information about
that breed. In this case, try checking with one of the popular
search engines such as Infoseek
or Alta Vista.
Because
writing the FAQ's is a volunteer project, not all breeds are
yet covered.
If the entry is prefixed with a %, it is possible to find
pictures of the breed with links on the first page. If it
is prefixed with a +, there are pictures in the faq itself.
An @ means the actual page is offsite.
